Sleepy Rocky

All of sudden things are beginning to snowball! Yesterday I scheduled the demolition of my house for next Friday, I've visited the model home site for my new cabin and will be working to arrange financing, construction, etc., so with work, construction, trips out of town every couple of days (and I'm leaving on October 22 for a week long cruise - "Where Creativity Happens) so realistically, I know I won't be able to paint and post every day. i'll post something over the weekend but just want to apologize and say that I have over extended.

Everything is so different this year because of the flood.  Hopefully, once my home is rebuilt and I'm settled back into a normal day to day life style, life will slow down and I can resume some of the day to day activities that i'm not able to schedule right now.  Best wishes to all and I'll keep checking in to see how you are all doing!

Days 5, 6 and 7

Long Delayed Day 5 - Five Pages!

I wasn't able to post these yesterday, they vanished into a queue for a moderator to approve them. Day before, the uploader just didn't work. Arrgh. Well, the post in the queue didn't show up so I'll post them again since it's working today!

These pages are part of my sketchbook for The Art House Coop's 2012 Sketchbook Project. It costs $25 to sign up and is still open till October 31 if you're interested. They'll send you a blank sketchbook that you can recover, rebind, draw, paint, collage, do whatever you want with it as long as you keep it within the same cover size and less than an inch thick. Then you have till January 31, 2012 to fill it. When signing up, you get to choose a theme from a menu. I could have had the soft option of "This is a Sketchbook" and done anything I wanted with it, but I picked "Prehistoric."

Then one more news article about creationists trying to throw evolution out of schools made me mad. Instead of just filling it with lots of prehistoric cats as I first planned, I decided to make it a cartoon history of life. So here it is. Evolution with a lot of pictures. Enjoy!

Day 5, four Sketchbook Project pages.

Unfortunately, the uploader isn't working. So you'll have to just take my word for it that I started my "Prehistoric" theme Sketchbook Project journal today.

I had it laying around for months, signed up early this year as soon as I heard of it so I had plenty of time. I just spent most of it moving out of state. Today felt like a good day to get going. My idea jelled - I'm doing a history of life on Earth in my underground comics style. Hand lettered captions and loose brush pen drawings. Next batch of pages I'll get to the trilobites!
