Day 27

How to Draw an Indigo Bunting on Velour Paper resulted in a beautiful nature pastel done in colored Conte crayons. I didn't manage to get the colored Conte to work well on velour at first, but once I got the knack of it -- wow. I love how I can go over and over an area making changes and keep all the shimmering layers intact using velour board.

It wasn't that hard once I actually got down to doing it. I have no idea why I didn't make banners before this, I had some mental block about it that wouldn't let me do one for my book or anything else. But I created something seasonal with "Harvest" and an earlier DA piece, "Green Knotwork" on the ends for decorations, just used green type to go with it. I might change it for winter and do a Yule-ish one later on, then after Yule a pure wintry theme, then a spring one and so on. Or do something nature-ish for the winter one that's Yule and not, like snow-covered pines. It makes me tempted to do a long narrow artwork for it that would bookend a text space.

I posted two ACEOs already on my ETSY shop but I didn't want to post anything till I'd done a banner and filled out all the profile things and all. Would experienced ETSY sellers tell me how you handle shipping to other countries when the shipping listing is at flat-rate and you can't just put words like "At cost" the way I used to on eBay?
