Sketched in Holbein Academic oil pastels on ProArt sketchbook, 4" x 6". My granddaughter came in to watch Walking with Beasts and insisted on "whales" the Basilosaurus episode. This ancient ancestor of elephants was trapped on a sand spit by the predatory toothed whale and it was almost sketching from memory because the sequence was very short -- but I couldn't pause or anything so tried to get the body proportions in fast. It was gone by the time I started shading.
Today is another low key resting-up day but sketching on request for my granddaughter was something I could post for my daily art. Eh, I might do another sketch of something now that she's gone to bed, I have some ideas.
