We're having unseasonably warm weather here, and so we took off to Port Stanley, about 40 minute drive from where I live, which is located on Lake Erie (Great Lakes)
It was foggy!! Blasted! I took a trip out on the Atlantic coast earlier this summer, and painted nothing but fog, so it was a bit of a laugh to show up after driving through miles of beautiful, sunny weather, only to get to a foggy lake.
Towards the end of my painting, the sun did start to burn off the clouds and you could start seeing the horizon, and some blue sky peering through.
Back at the studio I also finished up this one, another plein air from 3 weeks back. I managed to fudge up the sky a bit and I never felt motivated enough to fix it until yesterday lol. I finished it today.
I also got more added to this guy:
I started gluing on some canvas threads to start reshaping the molding paste I did yesterday. I also went and attacked another painting in the same manner of that one:
I don't know what colour I should use with the red though. hrm. I wanted to paint a predominantly red painting, though, since red is one of those colours I rarely use, and am usually afraid of in large doses ;)
I also finished some varnishing (woohoo) and did a little bit more on the drawings I posted the other day! But, I won't post them until they are more exciting.
